Revered artist, producer & percussionist Anderson .Paak has added two more GRAMMY Awards to his now growing collection. The wins come for Best R&B Album for Ventura and for Best R&B Performance for “Come Home” ft. Andre 3000. This is the second year in a row that he’s received a GRAMMY having won last year for Best Rap Performance for his song “Bubblin”.
The win officially bookends the biggest and most prolific year of the Los Angeles artist’s career releasing two charting albums- Oxnard (debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200) and Ventura (debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200) both via Aftermath Entertainment, exclusively distributed by 12Tone Music, LLC. The Oxnard campaign saw his first Saturday Night Live appearance and additional musical performances and couch spots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, CBS This Morning and The Daily Show. The album was executive produced by Dr. Dre and features the likes of hip-hop legends Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, J. Cole, Q-Tip, and Pusha T.
Ventura featured Smokey Robinson, André 3000, Jazmine Sullivan, Brandy, Nate Dogg, Lalah Hathaway, and Sonyae Elise and saw appearances on Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Price is Right and more. His song “Make It Better” ft. Smokey Robinson was his first #1 song at Urban AC Radio (Mediabase). His subsequent Best Teef in the Game tour completely sold out and included his first Madison Square Garden and The Forum headline shows and 24 other stops across the US and Canada.
It was a great year for his philanthropic endeavors as well, with .Paak House - The Brandon Anderson Foundation - throwing their third .Paak House in the Park event. Hosted by Seth Rogan, Anthony Anderson and Anderson .Paak with performances from Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, The Game, YBN Cordae and more the annual event was created to support safe-havens for the next generation while cultivating alliances with like-minded non-profit organizations to generate a greater impact.
